OSRS Summer Campfire 2026 - Raids 4 Revealed, Wyrmscraig This Summer & RuneFest Goes to Birmingham
By Yellow Hat Editorial ·
Jagex's Summer Campfire drops the full 2026 roadmap: Blood Moon Rises on June 30, Wyrmscraig island, Raids 4 boss rush, RuneFest in Birmingham - plus the viral Reddit moment about running out of object IDs.
Jagex dropped its biggest community showcase of the year on May 29 - the Summer Campfire 2026 - and the OSRS roadmap for the rest of the year is genuinely stacked. Three major content drops are now confirmed, a real-world celebration is booked, and one Reddit thread about running out of object IDs somehow went viral in the middle of it all.
WHAT'S COMING THIS SUMMER The headline reveal is the Blood Moon Rises - the sixth Grandmaster quest and the long-awaited finale to the Myreque questline that has been running for nearly two decades. It drops June 30. Lord Lowerniel Drakan is back, the Vampyrium is open for exploration, and a brand-new repeatable solo boss called the Maggot King waits inside.
Right behind it: Wyrmscraig, the winner of the Sailing Player-Designed Island community poll, arrives in the south-west sea of Gielinor this summer. Expect tough mountainous terrain, two new skilling activities (Goat Hunting and Golem Crafting), a new Slayer Master, a new quest, and a repeatable boss called The Mad Angel.
RAIDS 4: THE FRACTURED ARCHIVE This is the big one. The Fractured Archive is OSRS's first new endgame raid in over four years - eight bosses, no puzzle rooms, pure boss rush. The Archive Guardian was first teased at the Winter Summit; Summer Campfire introduced Bork (the game's classic behemoth, back in a new context) and a new faction called the Smorcs. Boss-rush format. New Best-in-Slot rewards. Arrives later this year.
THE KEY DATES AND DETAILS - Blood Moon Rises: June 30, 2026 (Grandmaster quest, Myreque finale) - Wyrmscraig island: summer 2026 (player-designed, new quest, new Slayer Master) - The Fractured Archive: fall 2026 (eight bosses, new BiS rewards, requires While Guthix Sleeps) - New PvP tutorial at Ferox Enclave (risk-free learning challenges) - Official Bingo system goes live community-wide - New game servers in Singapore, South Africa, and Japan - RuneFest 2026 confirmed for Birmingham - RuneScape's 25th anniversary celebration, biggest ever
THE VIRAL SIDE NOTE The internet's favourite detail from Campfire wasn't a new boss. Developer Mod Nin responded to a Reddit joke with a now-infamous warning: "You joke, but we are imminently going to run out of IDs to assign to models and scenery so we need to do a bunch of work to stop the game exploding soon." Environmental object IDs are climbing dangerously into the 60,000 range - the same technical ceiling that caused a development panic before Theatre of Blood in 2018. The engineers are getting ahead of it this time, but the community is enjoying every second of the drama.
WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOU The Myreque questline that started nearly twenty years ago finally closes this month. A community-designed island hits the live map this summer. The four-year wait for a new raid ends before the year is out. Jagex's mobile improvements - Android picture-in-picture, bank tagging, renderer overhaul - are confirmed for the pipeline.
