OSRS Mobile Just Got Better: Switch Between 20 Accounts in a Single Tap

The OSRS Mobile Character Switcher is live with client update 237.4. Switch between up to 20 accounts from one screen. Here's how it works, how to set it up, and what else is coming to OSRS mobile.
Old School RuneScape just solved one of the most-requested quality-of-life problems on mobile: the Mobile Character Switcher went live on April 7 via client update 237.4. If you've been juggling a main, an iron, a pure, and a skiller on your phone - manually logging out, navigating back to the account selector, re-entering credentials every time - that's over.
HOW IT WORKS The switcher lives on the character select screen. If you have more than one character attached to your Jagex Account, you'll see a "Switch character" option appear automatically. Tap it and you're presented with up to 20 characters, four per page. Your default is whichever character you last logged in with on that device. Each listing has a small star: gold for members, silver for F2P - the same shorthand used in the world list.
One important note: switching characters does not automatically switch your world. If you're on a members-only world and switch to an F2P character, you'll need to select a world manually before logging in. Easy to handle, but worth knowing before you hit "Play Now" and wonder why it isn't working at 2 AM.
SETTING UP YOUR ORDER By default, characters appear in creation-date order. You can rearrange them any time through Account and Character Management Edit Characters drag to reorder. If your main account isn't your oldest creation, spend two minutes sorting the order - it makes the switcher significantly more useful day-to-day.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR OSRS MOBILE The character switcher is one piece of a broader mobile improvement push confirmed at the Summer Campfire. Android picture-in-picture is on the 2026 roadmap - meaning you'll be able to minimise OSRS to a floating window while using your phone normally. Mobile bank tagging is also confirmed, alongside a major visual overhaul of the official renderer. For the growing share of the community playing primarily on phone or tablet - especially in South-East Asia and South Africa, where new servers are confirmed - these changes make OSRS mobile a genuinely first-class experience.
