GTA 6 roleplay is coming: Rockstar owns FiveM, partnered with NoPixel, and is hiring for a creator platform

By Yellow Hat Editorial ·

RP won't be a mod scene this time — it's being built into the ecosystem. What we know, and what the RWT roleplay server plan looks like.

The biggest difference between GTA V's world and GTA VI's will be who builds the servers. In 2013, roleplay grew up as an unofficial mod scene. This time, Rockstar owns the infrastructure.

The facts on the table: Rockstar acquired Cfx.re — the team behind FiveM and RedM, the platforms that power effectively all of GTA RP — in August 2023, calling them "officially part of Rockstar Games." Rockstar has since partnered with NoPixel, the most-watched RP server in the world, bringing it onto the Rockstar Games Launcher. And Rockstar's own job listings show engineers being hired for a creator platform and dedicated server systems — the plumbing you build when user-run servers are part of the product, not a tolerated mod.

Put together: GTA VI roleplay is expected to be native to the ecosystem, with real server hosting, real moderation tools, and real support — the environment where serious RP cities can be built to last.

That's the opening we're building for. RWT Games plans to stand up its own roleplay city on Rockstar's server platform when it opens — hand-moderated, whitelist-first, run with the same no-bots, humans-only standard as our OSRS operation. Waitlist members get whitelist priority; the signup is one email on our GTA VI page.
