What Is the Mage Training Arena?
The Mage Training Arena (MTA) is a four-room Magic minigame in the Al Kharid desert. Players earn pizazz points in each room, then spend them on exclusive Magic rewards. Following significant QoL updates, MTA is now more accessible than ever - a bank chest was added, room mechanics improved, and the Rune Pouch is now purchasable here as an alternative to LMS, making it highly relevant for Ironmen and main accounts alike.
How to Get There
- 1Fastest: Ring of Duelling -> Duel Arena -> run north
- 2Alternative: Minigame Teleport -> MTA (free after first visit)
- 3Teleport to Al Kharid -> run north-east through the desert

The Four Rooms
1. Telekinetic Theatre
| Detail | Info |
|---|---|
| Spell | Telekinetic Grab |
| Objective | Guide the maze guardian to the exit tile |
| Points/hr | ~100-150 telekinetic points |
| Magic XP/hr | ~25,000-35,000 |
Strategy: Watch the guardian's direction, apply Telegrab when it advances toward the exit. Each completion resets the maze.
2. Alchemist's Playground
| Detail | Info |
|---|---|
| Spell | Low Alchemy / High Alchemy |
| Objective | Grab items from cupboards and alchemise the valuable ones |
| Points/hr | ~200-300 alchemist points |
| Magic XP/hr | ~50,000-70,000 |
Strategy: Quickly alchemise any item that gives points. Move constantly - the cupboard respawn timer is tight.
3. Enchanting Chamber
| Detail | Info |
|---|---|
| Spell | Jewellery enchantment (dragonstone preferred) |
| Objective | Enchant items on pedestals |
| Points/hr | 700-900 enchantment points (highest of all rooms) |
| Magic XP/hr | ~60,000-80,000 |
Strategy: Cast Enchant Dragonstone on every item visible. This room gives by far the most points per hour - prioritise it.
4. Graveyard

| Spell | Bones to Bananas (or Bones to Peaches once unlocked) |
| Objective | Collect 16 bones per inventory, convert, feed the zombie |
| Points/hr | ~100-200 graveyard points |

Strategy: Collect exactly 16 bones per load, cast conversion once on all of them, feed the zombie. Use the RuneLite plugin for precise timing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I need Bones to Peaches? It converts floor bones into peaches (heal 8 HP each) during combat - great for Barrows, Slayer tasks, and prayer-draining scenarios. Required for the Hard Lumbridge Diary.
Is the Rune Pouch worth getting at MTA? Yes - if you can't or don't want to do LMS. The Rune Pouch holds three rune types in one inventory slot, effectively giving three free spaces. Getting it via MTA also trains Magic throughout.
Is MTA worth doing in 2026? Yes for Ironmen - Rune Pouch, Infinity Boots, Bones to Peaches, and the Master Wand are all valuable. For mains the Rune Pouch is the fastest and most immediately useful reward.
