What Is Fishing Trawler?

Fishing Trawler is a cooperative Fishing minigame at Port Khazard where players board a trawler and keep it afloat during a 12-minute voyage. The primary goal for most players is the Angler outfit - a four-piece set that provides +2.5% bonus Fishing XP, making it a long-term investment worth thousands of saved fish on the road to 99.

How to Get There

  1. 1Run or teleport to Port Khazard (south-east of Ardougne, north of Yanille)
  2. 2Fastest teleport: Ardougne Cloak 2+ or fairy ring code CKR -> run south along the coast
  3. 3Speak to Murphy at the docks to board
  4. 4Switch to World 370 - games fill quickly and the repair load is shared

On World 370 with a full boat, repair work is shared between many players. Focus on one role (bailing or patching) and you'll easily qualify for full loot share.

How the Game Works

The trawler sails for 12 minutes while taking damage. Your jobs:

RoleHow to Do It
Bail waterClick the water flooding the hull
Repair hull holesUse swamp paste on holes in the walls
Fix net tearsUse rope on the torn net

If hull integrity reaches zero, the boat sinks - voyage fails with no loot awarded. Always keep the hull above zero. On a busy world this rarely happens.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Angler outfit worth getting? Yes - for any account planning to train Fishing seriously. The 2.5% XP bonus compounds significantly over 70 -> 99 Fishing. Get it before starting your main Fishing grind.

What is the best Fishing Trawler world? World 370. Games fill in minutes, repair workload is shared, and you spend minimal time between voyages.

Can you fail Fishing Trawler? Yes - hull integrity hitting zero sinks the boat with no loot. On a busy world with active players, this is rare. Solo or low-player worlds are much more likely to fail.

Do you get Fishing XP from Fishing Trawler? Yes - you receive Fishing XP from your share of the catch. The XP is secondary; the Angler outfit is the primary goal.

Quick Tips Checklist

  • Always use World 370 - shared repair load and fast games
  • Bring 50-100 swamp paste per session
  • Focus on one repair role per trip rather than trying to do everything
  • Get the outfit before starting your main Fishing grind to maximise the XP bonus
  • Murphy must be spoken to before boarding - don't miss the gangplank
